Q: How does Auberle’s Board of Directors help guide the organization in achieving its mission?
A: Our board supports Auberle’s strategic planning process. As Board Directors, we’re included as constituents up front in the planning process and then create accountability for plan completion. We regularly promote the work of Auberle to bring awareness to the organization. That awareness creates opportunities for others to share their time, talent and/or treasure with this great organization.
Q: Why is strong board leadership important for nonprofits like Auberle? A: Nonprofits like Auberle need strong board leadership to gain necessary expertise for ensuring long-term organizational health. Our board provides steady direction and furthers Auberle’s culture of accountability.
Q: What excites the board most about Auberle’s future?
A: Auberle is incredibly nimble, always finding new and innovative ways to meet the needs of the communities we support. We’re excited to see how the organization continues to meet the changing needs of our constituents.
Q: What experience do you bring to your role as a Board Director?
A: 25 years of Human Resources experience with expertise in workforce planning, recruitment, retention and engagement.
Q: Why is this work important to you?
A: I became connected to Auberle through their Employment Institute. At the time, I was leading recruitment efforts and the EI became a strong pipeline of talent for our organization. Over ten years later, we’re still working with the Employment Institute and Auberle has even expanded their geographic footprint to train and place candidates with UPMC in Central Pennsylvania.

Q: What aspect of Auberle’s work has impacted you the most since joining the board?
A: I’ve loved learning about foster care. It’s not a support I was familiar with and since learning about Auberle’s program, I’ve met so many foster families. One of my colleagues at UPMC is an Auberle foster parent who’s adopted through that experience. It’s been heartwarming to see those connections.
Q: What can the community to do support Auberle?
