Young Adult Services

Auberle recognizes that not all young people have a safety net in place to catch them during challenging times. Our programs for young adults are designed to care for and empower young people who are transitioning out of the foster care system, experiencing unstable housing, and learning to live independently so they can thrive as successful members of our community.

The 412 Youth Zone

Auberle’s 412 Youth Zone is dedicated to supporting young adults, aged 16 to 23, who are transitioning out of the foster care system or facing unstable housing in their transition to adulthood. Their goal is to provide a safe and welcoming environment where young people from Allegheny County can find the stability, support, and resources they need to reach and achieve their goals.
The 412 Youth Zone operates on the belief that everyone deserves a chance to build positive relationships, learn essential life skills, and have their basic needs met. The team offers individualized and collaborative support in a holistic range of areas including education, life skills, housing needs, prevention services, and employment. At the Drop-In Center, our young people have access to:

  • Laundry facilities,
  • Shower facilities,
  • Food,
  • Clothing,
  • Hygiene products,
  • Medical clinic run by UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh, Adolescent and Young Adult Medicine,
  • Music studio,
  • Creative makerspace, and more.
By providing practical assistance and encouraging creative expression we aim to help young people pave their path to a bright future.
