Ward Home: Building Independence, One Step at a Time

   

Ward Home staff meets as a group and leads an outing with the Supervised Independent Living program participants. 

Through three programs — two supervised independent living programs and My Best Self — Ward Home continues to make a huge impact on young people in our region as a subsidiary agency of Auberle. 

A Q&A with Tamika Simpson, Director of Ward Home


Q: Who do you serve with your team and how?
Ward Home supports youth 9-24years of age with self-care, self-esteem, residential care, life skills education and transitional support services.

Q: What are your goals as a team?
We aim to maintain utilization and youth served, have youth in educational programs or employed, maintain a level of workshops delivered, and have positive, successful discharges from the programs. 

Q: How many years of combined professional experience does your team have in this field?
A: We have pproximately 190 years of combined experience across our team. 

Q: How many combined advanced degrees or certifications does your team have in this field?
A:Four.

Q: How many individuals does your program serve?
A: Our program has served 2,058 youth.

Q: How would you describe your team in a few words?
A: We are the B.E.S.T. Brilliant, Ennobled, Skilled, Team

Q: What motivates your team to do this work?
A: We take pride in the youth that we serve, the relationships that are developed within our programs, and the resilience of program participants.
