Meet the team of Auberle's Employment Institute. This flagship workforce development program helps individuals achieve and maintain a career that changes the trajectory of their life.

A Q&A with Jake Markosky, Deputy Director of Auberle's Employment Institute 

Q: Who do you serve with your team and how?
A: We serve job seekers, employers, and community partners across the Pittsburgh and Harrisburg regions. We do this through holistic case management catering to the individual needs of our job seekers and employers alike. We provide supportive services, access to career training and work experience opportunities.

Q: Can you share some recent impact from your work?
A: Last fiscal year, our program assisted 220 individuals in obtaining employment at an average wage of $19.36 per hour, generating a total of $8.8 million in taxable wages.

Participants in YouthBuild, a cohort-based program offered at Auberle's Employment Institute, tour a state-of-the-art UPMC facility under construction. Individuals enrolled in YouthBuild receive hands-on training and experiences in high-paying, skilled trades. 

Q: What are your goals as a team?
A: Our goal is to address barriers to employment and empower job seekers to earn a family sustaining wage in a career of their choosing. We create talent pipelines for our employers generating a significant regional economic impact and bettering the lives of one individual or family at a time.     

Auberle's Employment Institute regularly hosts job fairs for both program participants and community members.
