Auberle Renames Annual Foster Family of the Year Award to Honor Bishop Emeritus David A. Zubik

The renaming was unveiled during Auberle’s Annual Meeting held Wednesday, November 5, 2025, where Bishop Zubik was also honored as the organization’s Community Partner of the Year. The event, hosted at Auberle’s Main Campus in McKeesport and attended by community leaders and supporters, celebrated the agency’s accomplishments over the past year and its continued mission to strengthen individuals, families, and communities. The Community Partner Award was presented by John Lydon, Auberle CEO Emeritus.
“The Bishop Zubik Foster Family of the Year Award will serve as a lasting tribute to a leader whose faith and compassion has strengthened our mission through his investment in the foster care program,” said Auberle CEO Darla Poole. “His example reminds us that every child deserves a loving home and every family deserves support.”
The Annual Meeting also featured remarks from The Most Reverend Bishop Mark A. Eckman, Diocese of Pittsburgh, and highlighted Auberle’s impact throughout fiscal year 2024–2025. The program included updates on the agency’s strategic initiatives, community partnerships, and recognition of high-performing staff teams.

Through foster care, housing, workforce development, behavioral health, and young adult services, Auberle continues to strengthen individuals, families, and communities across the state.
