Auberle Celebrates Participation in Pittsburgh’s First-Ever Light the World Giving Machines
Pittsburgh, PA — Auberle has been selected as one of the nonprofit partners featured in Pittsburgh’s inaugural Light the World Giving Machine, an innovative charitable giving experience that makes supporting local and global causes as easy as using a vending machine.
Hosted annually by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Light the World Giving Machines allow community members to purchase meaningful items such as meals, clothing, and other essentials for neighbors in need. The Church covers all operational costs, ensuring 100% of every donation goes directly to the selected mission-driven organizations.
Join Auberle at Tanger Outlets, 2200 Tanger Blvd, Washington, PA, from December 10, 2025, through January 4, 2026. The event kicks off with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 10:00 AM on December 10. Be sure to stop by Auberle Day on December 13, 11:00 AM – 3:00 PM, when staff and Board Directors will host family-friendly activities and share insights about Auberle programs.
“We are grateful to be part of this remarkable, interfaith, international program,” says Jennifer Ploskina, Director of Development at Auberle. “The Giving Machine creates a new, accessible opportunity for public generosity. We’re proud to stand alongside other nonprofits strengthening individuals and communities both locally and globally.”
The Giving Machines provide a simple, tangible way for community members to make a difference by “purchasing” charitable items ranging from $5 to $100. Globally, the Giving Machines have inspired extraordinary generosity. In 2024 alone, the program saw $16.4 million donated, 860,000 visitors, and 490,000 item cards purchased, including millions of meals and hundreds of thousands of vaccines.
This year, the Giving Machines will appear in more than 125 cities across 30 U.S. states and 21 countries, including their first-ever installation in Pittsburgh, joining world-class cities such as New York, Los Angeles, Rome, and Bangkok.
