There is a growing need for individuals, couples or families willing to open their hearts and homes to children and teenagers who have been removed from their home due to unfortunate circumstances. These children need a loving home and someone who will walk with them during a time of crisis and welcome them unconditionally into a safe and loving home.
FOSTER CARE
You've read the statistics. You know there are more than 40,000 children in Foster Care on any given day in the United States. Your heart is telling you to do something about it, but you have some questions. Auberle's Foster Care program is the largest non-kinship Foster Care program in Allegheny County. Our Foster Care program connects children and youth with families. The children vary in age from newborns to 21 years old. We believe all children deserve families and we work with our families to address any unique medical, development or behavior issues a child might have. Auberle's Foster Care Recruiter and Trainer teaches Foster Parents everything they will need to know to care for a foster child. We certify individuals, couples and families from all over Southwestern Pennsylvania.

What You Need to Be a Foster Parent

Be 21 years of age or older

Have permanent United States citizenship

Pass all applicable child/criminal clearances

Complete annual training hours

Support for Foster Parents
Fostering can present challenges as you work towards healing for the child in your care. Auberle recognizes this and presents you with the tools and support you need to help your foster child thrive. This support can include:

FOSTER GOODNESS - TEEN FOSTER CARE
There are dozens of teenagers in Allegheny County who need your help and heart. Auberle is part of a campaign called Foster Goodness which provides positive outcomes for teens in Foster Care and to attract more families to foster teenagers.
Our Teen Foster Care Program works with youth ages 12 to 21 to develop permanent and personal connections with caring adults to further their education, explore unlimited employment opportunities and teach them not only how to survive but also how to thrive.
