Auberle’s
Groundbreaking Ceremony for the new GOAL residential facility
was held on Thursday, September 6, 2007. By all accounts,
it was a great success. More than 200 people were in attendance.
Bishop
Paul Bradley, Judge Kim Clark, Board Vice Chair John Ponds,
and McKeesport Mayor Jim Brewster all spoke at the ceremony,
commenting on the dedication of the Auberle staff and the
good work of the agency.
Josh,
a GOAL resident, spoke on behalf of the children who will
be benefiting from the new facility. Belle, another Auberle
resident and member of the choir, sang everyone a song at
the end that brought the entire group to its feet.
The following
is a quote about the event from Judge Clark, head of the Family
Division, Allegheny County Court of Common Pleas.
“It’s
an honor and a privilege for me to be here for this glorious
Groundbreaking Ceremony. Auberle has a rich history of providing
services to our children and families in our community. I
personally have had the experience of seeing the good work
that Auberle continues to do.
Today
Auberle continues this fine tradition with the Groundbreaking
for a new residential building. Auberle continues to be a
groundbreaker, a pioneer, a revolutionary, and an innovator.
You continue to dream and you act on these dreams. You continue
to feel the needs of the children. For this, you have my thanks.
Congratulations and thank you on behalf of the judges and
on behalf of the children of Allegheny County.” Judge
Kim Berkeley Clark
