Auberle's Fourth Annual Voices Carry, presented by Huntington Bank, continued as one of Pittsburgh's premier events. This year's Voices Carry was held on Tuesday evening, September 30 , 2008 in the East Hall at Heinz Field.

Voices Carry can only be described as a night of great singing, good food, and a whole lot of fun. Attendees could bid to sing or dance with their favorite celebrity singer and there were more than a few in attendance this year.

This year's list of celebrity singers read like a list of "who's who" in Pittsburgh. Leading the way -- Pittsburgh rock icon Donnie Iris, joined by other prominent, talented musicians including, Rick Witkowski and the Pittsburgh All Stars, Karen Jeffreys, Jessica Lee, Roy Ruzika, Chris Hemingway, Etta Cox, Johnny Angel, The Chris Higbee Project, Kelsey Friday, Anthony Rankin, Sandy Dowe, The Clarks, Joey Gruscheky, Antoinette Manganas, Sabrina DeMatteo, and Margot B. Along with emcee Randy Baumann of WDVE, other celebrities also committed to supporting Auberle by singing and supporting Auberle at Voices Carry, including Jim Krenn from WDVE, Jon Burton, Andrew Stockey, Mike Clark, Sally Wiggin, Stephen Cropper and Janelle Hall of WTAE-TV, and Jim Lokay of KDKA-TV, Vince Sims of WPXI-TV and Former Steelers Linebacker Robin Cole.  All of the singers gathered on stage at the end of the night and sang as a group, which brought the crowd to their feet.

Auctions continued throughout the night for those who wished to take a chance of walking away with one of several fabulous prizes, including a Dine 'round the 'Burg package, Wheelbarrow of Cheer, and Southwest Airline tickets. This year, attendees purchased grab bags for $25, $50 or $75, which gave them a chance to win one of two fabulous grand prizes - a Cédé design diamond pendant necklace, donated by Casa D'Oro Jewelers (www.casadoro.com) or two tickets for air travel within the continental US, donated by AirTran Airways (www.airtran.com).

New to this year’s voices carry was our “Voices Carry Pledge to Sing” contest.  Alicia Andrews “won” the privilege to perform the third song of the night with the band!  Alicia raised $1,205 from friends, family, co-workers or perhaps people on the street to “pay for” the privilege of singing!

The night was fun, to be sure, but Voices Carry is more about introducing the attendees to the work and mission of Auberle: helping children and families to heal themselves. Auberleís goal is to present a compelling story, ultimately resulting in an increase in community involvement with the organization. This was perhaps this year's biggest achievement, with many new people being introduced to Auberle and our work with children and families.

Overall, the Fourth Annual Voices Carry had 500 total people in attendance. Voices Carry also raised approximately $113, 000. We are looking forward to making next year's event even more fun.
