Therapeutic Challenge Course

Auberle's Therapeutic Challenge Course is modeled after the very successful program at West Virginia University’s Chestnut Ridge Center and one of only a few courses in our region. We understand the importance of providing our children with innovative opportunities to  heal.  Our Therapeutic Challenge Course promotes physical, behavioral and mental health together in a program designed specifically for at-risk children and youth.

Auberle's course is primarily a clinical and therapeutic tool. Research shows that challenge courses provide countless therapeutic benefits for both individuals and groups. Auberle's Therapeutic Challenge Course is a component of Auberle's therapy services that allows us to provide our youth with a physical and emotional experience that helps physically and sexually abused children:

  • Develop trust
  • Expand personal boundaries
  • Gain self-confidence
  • Increase trust and independence
  • Improve Communication]
  • Learn the difference between a good touch and a bad touch

Auberle therapists and staff are specially trained to conduct therapy groups on the course according to strict industry standards and by utilizing a non-traditional, evidence-based therapy known as experiential therapy. The Therapeutic Challenge Course helps therapists identify issues related to abuse resulting in faster, more effective care.

Auberle's Challenge Course is intrinsically linked to the community. Our facilities are open to use by non-profits, human service providers, mental health groups, businesses, sports teams, schools and universities, summer camps, children groups etc. View pictures of Auberle's Therapeutic Challenge Course in use.
