Senator Orie Presents Auberle With $400,000 Capital Improvement Appropriation Check

State Senator Jane Orie presented Auberle with a $400,000 capital budget appropriation check from the State of Pennsylvania in a ceremony held on Friday, March 16th, 2007.

She presented the check to Auberle officials at a ceremony held in the Gallitzin Room at the Catholic Diocese of Pittsburgh Offices in Downtown Pittsburgh. Auberle CEO John Lydon, Board Chair John Stockhausen, and Bishop Paul J. Bradley, who is also an Auberle Board Member, accepted the check during the ceremony. Other Auberle board members, staff, volunteers, and friends of the agency were in attendance to witness the presentation.

The appropriation will be used for the construction of an entirely new building on the Auberle campus in McKeesport. The new building will be an extension of Auberle's residential program and will house up to 24 children in need.

The capital budget appropriation is the first in the 55-year history of Auberle. The allocation of funds reaffirms the importance of Auberle’s work with abused, neglected, and troubled children and families. At a time when residential services are on a general decline, the demand for Auberle’s services is increasing, prompting the need for the new facility.
