Community Joins Bishop and Auberle to Dedicate New
GOAL Building

On April 25, 2008, 200 people joined Bishop David Zubik and Senator Jane Clare Orie to celebrate the dedication of the new Group Oriented Adolescent Living (GOAL) Building at our main campus. The Bishop and Senator Orie were joined by Auberle Board Chair Vince Locher (Regional President of Huntington Bank) County Executive Dan Onorato, State Representative Bill Kortz, County Councilmen Bob Macey and Matt Drozd, McKeesport Mayor Jim Brewster, members of City Council and many representatives from agencies that refer youth to Auberle services.

The remarks by Bishop Zubik, Senator Orie and County Executive Dan Onorato carried some consistent themes:

• Recognizing Auberle staff and volunteers who work with troubled children and families and help them succeed daily.
• Recognizing the excellence that Auberle delivers and the lives that are saved by working with children and families.

The GOAL program is community based living for young men ages 15-18. With access to a computer lab, career center as well as recreational, kitchen and laundry facilities, the youth learn to stand on their own two feet and work toward becoming productive and contributing citizens of the community. They complete their education; learn vocational skills, work ethic and driver education, as well as necessary social and independent living skills, including maintaining a home or apartment.
