A Simple Equation: Unions + Children = A Positive Outcome

The AFL-CIO, in conjunction with the 48th annual Pennsylvania AFL-CIO Community Service Institute, brought sunshine into the lives of the Auberle residential children on October 26, 2007.

Jack Shea, President of Allegheny County AFL-CIO Labor Council, presented John Lydon, Chief Executive Officer, with Macy’s Gift cards valued at $5500. The children used the opportunity to shop for items of their choice as well as visit the downtown Pittsburgh flagship store.

Accompanying Mr. Shea was Joe Delale, Community Services Liaison, Sharon Kasenic, Membership Servicing Representative Local 23, UFCW and Vince Larence, Director of Public Affairs, UFCW-AFL-CIO Local 23. The cards represent donations from local unions from across Pennsylvania.
