Gloria
has been an Auberle foster parent since this past November.
She has raised two children of her own and has six years experience
with Treatment/Therapeutic Foster Care in PA and more experience
as a foster parent in VA. She has done exstensive work with
troubled teens both professionally and as a foster parent.
Her Master's Degree and job are in the field of education
so she will be able to help her foster children with education
issues and service barriers. She has also worked as a Probation
Parole Officer.
Geneva
has been an Auberle foster parent since 1996. She has also
recruited a number of other foster parents. She has raised
her own children and grandchildren. She knows how to advocate
for her foster children, especially when it comes to working
with the school district. She does amazing things when it
comes to behavioral issues, self -esteem, and learning problems.
I have her co-lead some of the foster parent training classes
on discipline and working with behavior and learning problems.
Thelma has been an Auberle foster parent since 2001.
She has had six foster children with Auberle while raising
two daughters. She helps care for her grandson when her daughter
works. She babysat children when she was a young teen and
has cared for children in her home on and off for most of
her adult life. She is patient and loving but firm when she
needs to be. She helps children work through their problems
and is a good listener. She has a good time with them but
still makes them do their homework. Children can have fun
at her house and know they are loved but there is no doubt
about who is in charge.
Kim
has been an Auberle foster parent since 7/02. She has experience raising her own
daughter and has cared for 3 foster children so far. She has a supportive extended
family. Craig
and Susan have been foster parents since 4/03. Even though they have no children
of their own they have cared for the children of family and friends and have really
enjoyed it. Craig is very patient and loving, he may be too soft on children sometimes
when they need to be disciplined. Susan is very loving and attentive as well as
being firm and consistent; she is more the disciplinarian. If I were a foster
child I would want to be placed in their home.
Sheila
has been an Auberle foster parent since 1997. She is very
patient and has done a wonderful job with some very difficult
children. She works very hard with her foster children teaching
them important life skills. She is a very loving and supportive
foster parent.
Michelle
has been an Auberle foster parent since 1998. She is a mother, grandmother,
and an aunt. She has taken on a wide variety of foster children and done very
well with them. She is committed to providing the best possible environment for
her foster children. She is loving, patient, and fair but firm. Her foster children
know they can talk to her about almost anything. She is very consistent about
communicating with our staff about the problems, progress, and needs of the foster
children in her care.
