Auberle, a faith-based agency that works for troubled children
and their families, will get a $400,000 capital budget appropriation
from the state tomorrow.
State
Sen. Jane Orie, R-McCandless, will present the check at an
11 a.m. ceremony in the Gallitzin Room at the Catholic Diocese
of Pittsburgh Offices, 111 Boulevard of the Allies, Downtown.
The
appropriation is earmarked for the construction of a new building
on the Auberle campus on Hartman Street in McKeesport. The
new building will house children as part of the agency's residential
program.
The
capital budget appropriation is the first in Auberle's 55-year
history. At a time when residential services are on a general
decline, the demand for Auberle's are increasing, prompting
the need for the new facility. The new building will hold
24 additional beds for children in need.
