The Millers and The Barretts
Two Sisters Adopt Four Brothers
In May of 2008, a little boy entered Foster Care who had been severly abused and consequently had many behavioral issues. He had to be placed seperately from his three other siblings at the time due to his behavioral needs. His three siblings were placed with another agency. The little boy was placed with The Barretts, an Auberle Foster Family, who had just adopted a brother and sister. They wanted to foster but were not looking toward adopting anymore children. Because the foster mother was a school nurse, her sister Freida Miller was clearanced to be her back up caregiver/babysitter. After spending weeks on end with the little boy, Freida came to Auberle asking to become certified as a foster parent because she wanted to foster this little guy. Freida quickly fulfilled all the requirements and was cleared to be his permanent placement. One and a half years later, the three other siblings were in need of a new foster placement and Auberle was contacted to see if the boys could be reunited in any way. Each of the two sisters took two of the brothers. A year later, the four brothers' placement was made permanent through adoption. Though they are not in the same home, the four boys are being raised in the same family.
