House Mother
The Semi Independent Living House Mother fulfills a much needed role in the lives of the young men and women in residence at Auberle. Auberle’s SIL programs serve young men and women ages 16-20 who are at some risk for problem behavior. Many of our youth have not had the benefit of a positive consistent adult relationship to help them as they grow into adulthood. The youth in our care need help to learn the basic life skills that they will need to be self sustaining adults. The SIL House Mother will provide consistent help with life lessons such as but not limited to:
- Preparing and planning a menu
- Cooking and meal preparation
- Help with teaching youth to do laundry and iron clothes
- Provide general support/life advice to the youth in care
Time Commitment
- Initial application process: 2 hours
- Training: 3 hours
- We ask that each volunteer commit at least 3 hours one night per week.
