Catherine Backofen’s Legacy

For 32 years, Catherine Backofen made an annual donation to Auberle. While she did not have children of her own, we always felt the children of Auberle were part of her extended family.

With her recent passing at age 93, her kindness to our agency and her love of children was generously displayed by her bequest of $123,000 to Auberle. Ms. Backofen may have lived a quiet life but the volume of her thoughtful gift to carry on the work with troubled, neglected and abused children will create a legacy that will be remembered for years for the good it will accomplish.
