Front Desk Receptionist

Front Desk Volunteers are needed to fill in during the event of a call-off or when extra support is needed in the reception area. This is an ideal position for individuals who would like to contribute to the work that Auberle does to care for at-risk children and families through vital administrative support. Front Desk Volunteers can work day shifts, evening shifts or weekend shifts depending on availability. Candidates should be professional, friendly and enjoy working with and meeting new people. Some experience in customer service or nonprofit work is preferred but not a must.

Volunteers are asked to:

  • Assist clients, visitors and staff (in person/on the phone) in a prompt, courteous, helpful manner
  • Maintain confidentiality
  • Operate security equipment located at the receptionist work area. Adhere to all Auberle security procedures.
  • Demonstrate organizational and time management skills
  • Operate office equipment
  • Assist with special projects as assigned
  • Answer phone calls and make phone call transfers
  • Make sure each visitor signs in

We are looking for friendly, flexible, professional, articulate candidates who enjoy working as part of a team.

Time Commitment:

  • Initial application process:  2 hours
  • Training:  3 hours
  • We ask that each volunteer commit to six fill-in shifts for call-offs as well as six additional shifts per year.
