Family Visit Supervisor
Family Visit Volunteers are needed to supervise family visits at our Community Programs office on Fifth Avenue in McKeesport, PA. Volunteers will be asked to sit with families during court-ordered, on-site visits, take notes and report to the appropriate case manager about the visit. This is the ideal position for someone who wants to make a difference in the lives of troubled families. Candidates should be professional, compassionate, flexible and enjoy working with and meeting new people. Some experience in social service is preferred but not a must.
Volunteers are asked to:
- Sit-in on weekly familiy visits at Auberle's Community Programs Fifth Avenue site
- Maintain confidentiality
- Take noteson what is observed during the visits per volunteer training
- Demonstrate effective problem solving skills
- Provide case managers with summaries of family visits
We are looking for friendly, flexible, professional, articulate candidates who enjoy working as part of a team.
Time Commitment:
- Initial application process: 2 hours
- Training: 3 hours
- We ask that each volunteer commit to one to two family visits per week. Each family visit is 1-3 hours long.
