Foster
Parent Appreciation Banquet
May / June 2008
Held in honor Auberle’s amazing and dedicated foster
parents, this banquet is held each year around the month
of May, which is Foster Care month in Pennsylvania. Spring
2006 proved to be our largest class of prospective foster
parents to date and we are hopeful to continue on that
trend for 2007. With homes now in Westmoreland and Washington
Counties, we are currently serving an average of 64 foster
children each day.

Festival
of Fun
July 2008
Auberle's annual Festival of Fun provides children the
chance to develop and foster self-esteem, acceptance,
and appreciation of diversity and teamwork. Festival of
Fun benefits children ages 7 to 13 who have been removed
from their homes because of neglect or other unsafe conditions.
Auberle staff and children proudly host Festival of Fun
at our facilities in McKeesport, and we welcome the participation
of children from similar organizations from southwestern
Pennsylvania. Volunteer

A Difference Auberle Bingo
October 18, 2008
Volunteers definitely make all the difference for "Make

the Auberle Main Campus. The Auberle Grandma & Grandpa
volunteer program received local and national recognition
for their role in the past Make A Difference Day Bingos
by "Points of Light Foundation," USA Weekend
Magazine and the McKeesport Daily News . A special thanks
to all who attended, with special thanks to our celebrity
caller Sally Wiggin of Channel 4, for making our 2006
event a smashing success! |

Santa's
Workshop at Auberle
December 2008
Auberle initiated the Santa's Workshop to meet an important
need for our children - the opportunity to give to others.
Auberle's volunteer Grandmas and Grandpas are a leading
force in the success of the Workshop by coordinating the
donation of gifts that will be purchased by the children
with tokens, to give to loved ones and friends.

Special
Santa
December 2008
We started the Special Santa Program to provide Auberle
children with gifts so they could experience the joy of
Christmas. Special Santa volunteers purchase gifts from
a wish list each Auberle child makes. Residential Care
children receive their gifts at the annual Christmas party.
Children in other Auberle programs, such as the shelter,
foster care or in-home services program, have their gifts
delivered to their homes by Auberle staff. Volunteer
