Auberle/Highmark Walk for a Healthy Community

The Highmark Walk for a Healthy Community, which will take place on Saturday, May 19th, brings together numerous local nonprofit organizations that deliver vital health and human services programs in our community.  This year Auberle was lucky to have been chosen to participate. There are several ways to participate in the Highmark Walk for a Healthy Community—Walk, Donate, or Walk and Donate.   

Walk:  Registering for the walk is easy!  There are a few options to register:
Online (register to walk with the option to donate here as well): 

  1. visit http://www.walkforahealthycommunity.org/
  2. Choose the walk location—Pittsburgh
  3. Click on “Registration”
  4. Select Pauline Auberle Foundation
  5. Click on “Register Now”
  6. Register to walk as an individual or join as team
  7. Follow prompts to register

Day of Event:

  1. Arrive at event
  2. Sign in at Pauline Auberle Foundation’s registration tent

Donate: Athough there is no registration fee required for the walk, all walkers are encouraged to raise funds on Auberle’s behalf.  Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield guarantees that 100 percent of the money raised is donated directly to Auberle.

  5. Click on “Become a Virtual Walker”
  6. Follow prompts to make desired donation

Day of Event:

  2. Hand in donations at the Pauline Auberle Foundation registration tent

Here are a few things that walkers can look forward to:

  • A beautiful day!  The walk will be held rain or shine.
  • A chance to win prizes valued at $1,000 collectively.  For every $50 that you donate or raise in support of Auberle, you will receive one raffle ticket. 
  • Food, beverages, music, activities and prize drawings immediately following the conclusion of the walk.
  • Receive a Highmark Walk for a Healthy Community t-shirt if you donate or raise $25 or more for Auberle (while supplies last). 
  • An accessible walkway for strollers and wheelchairs.
  • Convenient parking will be available on the North Shore.
