Since
1952, Auberle has been helping troubled children and families to heal
themselves.
Auberle served over 1,900 children and families last year through our
programs and services.
Auberle was awarded the SNAPTM and Independent Living and Aftercare
(ILA) Programs -- a strong validation of our position in the community
as being a preferred provider of services.
Allegheny County Intensive In-Home Services had an 87% positive discharge
rate and 89% of families contacted at one year are safe and together.
“Positive discharge” is defined as a child who moves to
a less restrictive environment after completion of a program.
Foster Care had an 89% positive discharge rate.
Three foster families adopted four children in their care on National
Adoption Day, and all three families remain active as foster parents.
Over 400 volunteers donated time and talent in various capacities at
Auberle during the past year.
For the first time, Auberle implemented an in-school alternative education
service and classroom within the Duquesne City School District Education
Center.
Foster Care instituted teaching the Common Sense Parenting curriculum
to foster parents.
Established two community sites to provide drug and alcohol services.
Auberle secured a Drug and Alcohol Outpatient License for Westmoreland
County and established contracts in collaboration with the Westmoreland
County Children’s Bureau to provide drug and alcohol outpatient
services in the home of at-risk children.
Auberle joined the Allegheny County Outcomes Project Committee, PCCYFS
Outcomes Project, and Alliance Outcomes Project and instituted data
collection for all agency metrics to better serve our children and families.
Instituted teaching of Daniel Memorial Independent Living Skills curriculum
for children 14 and older in foster care.
Of the six young residential men graduating during the 2006 school year,
four planned to attend college or a technical school.
The agency was selected by the Center for Creative Play over five other
agencies to collaborate on a
one-year grant from the Pittsburgh Foundation.
100% of our shelter children eligible for residential placement entered
into our Auberle residential programs.
The GOAL program moved to the Main Campus with expanded capacity from
8 beds to 12 beds – a new GOAL facility is currently under construction
and will double the number of beds available for the program.
Auberle achieved re-accreditation through the Council on Accreditation
(COA).
Auberle received its first-ever Pennsylvania state capital budget appropriation
last year.
