About
Since 1952, Auberle has been dedicated to healing families and empowering youth throughout Southwestern Pennsylvania. Auberle enables children and families to harness their inherent strengths to heal themselves. We have helped thousands of children and their families through our residential care, foster care, emergency shelter, in-home intervention, education, vocational, workforce development, student assistance, drug and alcohol and mental health programs. Today, we serve over 2,300 children and families in eight counties through 16 program areas for girls, boys, families and the community.

History
Auberle was founded through the legacy and generosity of Pauline Auberle, a McKeesport resident, who upon her death willed money and land to the Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Pittsburgh to start a "home" for boys. In 1952, Pauline's dream took place when Auberle opened its doors at 1101 Hartman Street in McKeesport, PA.

Auberle was once known as the “Boystown of the East.” But since the late 1980s, Auberle has grown into new service areas. Today we offer programs for girls, adults and families - as well as a wide range of prevention and community based programs. From our start as a residential facility, today more than 2/3 of our clients are served in their home, school or in their community.
