Auberle's
Third Annual Voices Carry, presented by Huntington Bank, continued as one
of Pittsburgh's premier events. This year's Voices Carry was held on Tuesday
evening, September 18, 2007 in the East Hall at Heinz Field.
Voices Carry can only
be described as a night of great
singing, good food, and a whole lot of fun. Attendees could bid to sing with or be sung
to by their favorite celebrity singer – and there were more than a few in
attendance this year.

This
year’s list of celebrity singers read like a list of “who’s who” in Pittsburgh. Leading the way -- Pittsburgh rock icon Donnie
Iris, joined by other prominent, talented musicians including, Tony Janflone,
Jr., Joe Grushecky, Jessica Lee, Sandy Dowe, The Clarks, Etta Cox, Karen Jeffreys,
Antionette Manganas, and B.E. Taylor. Along
with emcee Randy Baumann of WDVE, other celebrities also committed to supporting
Auberle by singing ans supporting Auberle at Voices Carry, including Jim Krenn
from WDVE, Sally Wiggin and Mike Clark, Jon Burton, and Janelle Hall of WTAE-TV,
and Trenni Kusnierek of Fox Sports. Sally
and Trenni both gave moving testimonials about their experiences working with
Auberle and the mission. All of the singers gathered on stage at the end of
the night and sang as a group, which brought the crowd to their feet.

Auctions
continued throughout the night for those who wished to take a chance of walking
away with one of several fabulous prizes, including a Pittsburgh Night Out,
Emerilware Stainless 10-Piece Cookware Set , Wine and Dine Gift Basket and
a Family Portrait Package. This year, attendees purchased grab bags for $50,
which gave them a chance at the grand prize of jewelry from Casa D'Oro.
The
night was fun, to be sure, but Voices Carry is more about introducing the
attendees to the work and mission of Auberle: helping children and families
to heal themselves. Auberle’s goal is to present a compelling story, ultimately
resulting in an increase in community involvement with the organization. This
was perhaps this year’s biggest achievement, with 134 new people being introduced
to Auberle and our work with children and families.
Overall,
the Third Annual Voices Carry had over 500 total people in attendance.
Voices Carry also raised approximately $96, 000.
We are looking forward to making next year’s event even more fun.
