Auberle's Kids Volunteer for City of McKeesport Smokehouse Display

Residents from Auberle volunteered in assisting the City of McKeesport Fire Department with tours of their Fire Safety Exhibit that was on display at the International Village Days in Renzie Park during August. The Fire Safety Exhibit is a portable replica of a house with different stations inside designed to teach youngsters about fire safety. Auberle residents assisted the Fire Fighters by walking the youngsters through the exhibit. One of the featured stations educates children on how to properly evacuate a room if it begins to fill with smoke. Firefighters use a controllable machine to fill the “smoke room”, making the simulation as realistic as possible. The Auberle Residents assisted the youngsters by showing them how to properly evacuate the room.

All of the kids who volunteered had a great time, knowing that they were helping other kids and giving back to the community.
