There are many ways to give to Auberle, learn how. Contact us at 412-673-5856 ext. 1315 with any questions.
About the Campaign
In launching the Delivering Excellence Comprehensive Campaign, our chief goal was to increase the impact we have on struggling families and vulnerable youth for generations to come. For more than 50 years, Auberle has provided innovative care that had made a lasting impact on our region. Last year alone, we served more than 1,900 children and families in eight counties in Southwestern Pennsylvania, impacting children from birth to age 21 and their families as well. With your support, our Delivering Excellence Campaign will help to ensure that we continue to change lives and provide positive outcomes for generations to come.
Campaign Achievements
SNAP for Boys
The Child Development Institute of Toronto’s study of violent offenders showed that more than 90% of these individuals came to the attention of the authorities between the ages of 6-11. This information led them to create the Stop Now and Plan (SNAP) program. SNAP is a research based 30-year-old program that works in the home, school and community to intervene in the lives of young boys who act impulsively.
- Families have been so impacted by this program that they have referred other parents causing us to triple the recruitment goal for this project.
- None of the boys who participated in the program had any involvement with the police after attending the SNAP program.
Group Oriented Adolescent Living (GOAL)
Auberle’s GOAL program provides young men ages 16-18 with the skills they need to become stable members of the community. Youth work part time and secure either a high school diploma or GED. This program was named Allegheny County’s Residential Program of the Year.
- The Delivering Excellence Campaign raised $1 million toward the construction of a state-of-the-art building to increase the number of youth served by this program.
Hartman Male Shelter (HMS)
Only 25% of the young men taken to Shuman, Allegheny County’s Juvenile Detention Center are there because of a violent offense. Pulling out the nonviolent teens puts them on a different course. Due to Auberle’s high success rates with young men in the juvenile justice system, Allegheny County asked us to deliver this one of a kind program.
- The Delivering Excellence Campaign raised more than $700,000 to design and construct program space for HMS.
- HMS was also named Allegheny County Residential Program of the Year after only being open six months when it received this recognition.
Progress
With an official 2007 start date, the campaign is already well established. Thanks to the generous support of the community, foundations, businesses and friends, the campaign has already raised over $4.5 million dollars. As we continue toward our goal of $5 million dollars by November 2010, we'll update you on the progress we're making. In the meantime, we encourage you to get involved today. Please become a part of the legacy and future of Auberle.
