21st Annual All Star Banquet Celebrates the Achievements of Auberle Kids Click
Here to See All Event Photos Children, staff, volunteers, and friends of Auberle gathered on March 14, 2007 to celebrate a night of successes and achievements at the 21st Annual All Star Banquet. The banquet was held at Stratigos in North Huntington Township. This year, the theme was “The Sky is the Limit.” The All Star Banquet, sponsored by Respironics, is held each year to honor many accomplishments of the children and families that Auberle serves. The banquet recognizes special achievements in education, citizenship, and sportsmanship. Many of the Auberle children were recognized for the first time in their lives. Many also had never attended a banquet function before the All Star Banquet. Winners of awards received plaques or trophies. “Celebrating the achievements of the children and families that we serve is at the very heart of Auberle’s mission of helping children and families to heal themselves,” says Mathilda Spencer, Director of Residential Services, and MC of the event. “These children have had so much to overcome in life, and it’s important that their many achievements are recognized.” Mathilda was joined by Zach E. and John R., who helped with the night’s festivities. In all, 300 people attended the event this year. The
event was orchestrated primarily by volunteers. Kathleen Miclot, an
Events Committee and Board Member, and her team of volunteers came up
with this year’s theme: “The Sky is the Limit.”. Special
thanks to Annette Skoff, Donna Bieltler, Terri Fuellgraf, Lisa Edelman,
Elaine Ostrowski, Tracy Shellem, Ginny Wright for making the night truly
memorable. The
Auberle Partner Award recognizes a community-based or business organization
that promotes outstanding service to children and families. This year,
two recipients were selected. Allegheny County Juvenile Court and Children’s
Hospital of Pittsburgh at Turtle Creek were chosen because of their
outstanding commitment to serving children and families.
